I was wondering what the pros vs cons are for sterilite vs aquariums. I have never used sterilite (except once when I was like 11 and found a garter snake and had nothign else to use) i know that sterlite is cheaper and uses less space but thats about it. I came very interested as I read about more and more people using them.

They hold humidity better and they are easier to clean...thats about it as far as I know.

couple questions

1-what dimensions should I be shooting for an adult corn snake

2- if I use a human heating pad will I need to use a thermostat

As for what's been said, let me just make a few corrections:
- Sterilite doesn't use less space, it uses more due to handles and lid.
- They are easier to clean because they are lighter and therefore more manageable. A well used sterilite by a scratchy lizard would be more difficult to clean and disinfect than it's glass counterpart.

Sterilites main selling points besides price is how easy you can adapt one to your needs and the large number of models you have for the same capacity.

Many of us use the sterilites. All my corns and kings are in them.
Its not that they take up less space, since a box, is a box, is a box, no matter what its made of. The main advantages are that they are cheaper than aquariums, they hold humidity well, the lighter weight allows for easier mobility and stacking. They aren't going to shatter if you drop one. The main drawback is they are not as attractive and not transparent like glass is if you are looking for something as a display.
Human type heating pads come with their own 3 stage temperature controller.
