Tree Frog Vavarium help needed

Ok Sean would like a bigger vivarium for his tree frogs. We are in the planning stage and I need all the help I can get. Will be made this summer. This is my plan so far: I’m going to make a PVC frame with thick plastic for the sides (sewn to fit the frame) will this work? What would be a good size? (I have looked at different care sheets and get different answers). Should I include a section for water with a filter or use a fountain? Should we use real of fake plants? What about lighting (now we just use a regular light bulb for temp). What would work best for substrate? I want to do it right the first time, this time!!

Red eyes I recon?

I would include a water section but how you do the water section depends on the setup. Are you going to make the cage out of PVC frame and plastic? That should work but I would be worried about insects escaping and most of the aesthetics may be lost. And for size, the bigger the better but too large and you have to introduce more food as the frogs won't find it as readily.

I definitely recommend LIVE plants. For substrate I've been using almost straight peat moss, cut with some milled sphagnum and orchid bark, unless your enclosure is huge you don't need to worry too much about the soil become compacted. Which plants you use will depend on the substrate, light, and layout. Driftwood is an irreplaceable addition to a vivarium, I would start gathering some and treating it for this summer's project.

I would do a large aquarium (20+ gallons), orientated vertically (arboreal) with a false bottom divided for a water section. Check out HH for some ideas and post any questions you have.
