cage by design
For christmas this year I asked for money and petstore gift certificates only. Which is a good thing to ask for when you have ea big family and everybody gives you something it really adds up.
anyways, i really am considering buying a cage for my ig from www.cagesbydesign.com when she outgrows the cage she is in. Would "R7" be a big enough enclosure for an adult iguana? thats the biggest one I can buy. If thats not big enough....do ya'll have any other suggestions of sources to buy a custom iguana enclosure? if not i'll have to resort to building another cage which isnt totally out of the question, but I want to get something that will look nice and last for a good while.

Personally I would go talk to the teacher at the local vo-tech wood shop or a cabinet maker about getting one built for you. You would most likely get a lot more cage for your money. Just take them the dimensions and a list of your requirements and see what they will charge you.

Adam,
That is what I did when we needed to get an iggy cage; I work at an alternative school and had some student make it. Unfourntally I didn't have much to go on. Ours was made out of a 2"x4" frame with top and bottom made out of OSB (?) board. The sides are rabbit cage wire 1" x 2", that is smooth and yet strong enough for our 4' iggy to climb without bending. Size is 4' x 6' x 2' cost about $150 + pizza lunch for the two builders (they also got a marking period grade). They can't wait for the next project. ![]() |

Merlin's absolutely right, as usual.
CBD is waaaaaay overpriced.
