Dundee's Cage is expensive!

Oh my, I just added up all the material costs for Dundee's palace! I've spent nearly $400 and I have not even gotten the UVB lights yet. Oh, and the total doesn't include equipment I already had. Dundee better fall over with delight when he gets here! Now I just have to build it!

400???? You can buy a really good enclosure with all the necessary equipment for that amount of money.

I just hope he likes it when I'm done! It is a bit more expensive since it's an odd space and I decided to use pre-hung windows instead of sliding glass panels but I live in lightning bug central and I don't want to chance one getting in where he could eat it. Besides, it does enclose about 19 sq feet. I don't want him to get claustrophobic!

WOW! 19 square feet! THATS MASSIVE!

I'm about to build a cage for one of my dragons, but its only gunna be 4 feet long, 2 feet wide, and 2 feet high.

Kourtney, there are a couple of additional threads about this enclosure, one has photos I believe.
Richard (Hide Clyde) built this enclosure in a way that it would fit and blend in a corner in his living room, hence the size and the cost.

Kourtney, I just saw your post. I had unexpected surgery the 1st of the year and it is just now comfortable to type on the computer. Dundee's cage went through a bunch of changes after I designed it. The final form ended up being a 4x4x2 enclosure inside measurement on top of oak cabinets forming a center display in the middle of what became the libarary. My avatar is a picture of Dundee in her new home! I really don't know how much her home ended up costing because I returned some stuff and then bought more. I do know that the cabinets were not cheap but now we have 4 drawers, 3 cabinets and 2 shelves for storage so I am pleased and best of all so is wifey!
