Well, the corners are sealed and it's primered. The top area (where the lights/etc will go) is painted a flat black too. Next week, I'll be sketching out the mural and then starting to paint it. I can hardly wait!!

Here's the secret to my artistic skill... an overhead projector... shhh!

Find a mural or photo that you like (this is truly the most difficult part of the process), print a copy of it on transparency film (ink jet compatible), shine it up on the wall, sketch it out in pencil, and then paint it.

Here's what I'm basing my mural on:

Of course I'll take out the birds! I think I'll also change the placement of the horizontal branch a bit... but that's the starting point for my mural.

That will look fantastic! I wish I had thought of using a projector for my project. It would have saved me lots of time and guess-work!!
I can't wait to see how yours comes out... take pics of the painting process too, it's always fun to look back on.

Well, I ditched the mural idea... too labor intensive, and I just gotta get this done. I'll be doing a paint/glaze tecnique to give some "dimension" to the walls, though. It will eliminate the need for a polyurethane coat, too.

It's been cold and rainy here (again), so I haven't been able to take Gil outside so I can work on it... until today. I've got the base color down, and hopefully the weather will hold and I can get the other finish on and then I'll post some pics.
