I Finally Finished My Background Wall

My hermit crab tank is finally finished! I just put the last bit of EE on tonight! I had such a hard time reaching some areas I hurt my back and ruined tons of clothes BUT it is all worth it cause I am DONE! I just have to add final touches and the crabs and that is when I will post more pics hopefully Saturday (next)!

So here are the pics!

I am going to add moss and coco husk bedding inside the rock levels and I have a sea fan, 3 coco huts, a half log, 2 more driftwoods and some vines and things to add yet, but I have to wait for it to dry and clean them fron the old tank.

I am alittle worried cause the filters won't stick to the glass. I probably got some epoxy on it...so I have to scrape it with a razor blade to see if that will help. I guess it doesn't really matter cause the waterfall filter can stand on its own and the other I can get one suction to stick so it will work out I guess. I am just bummed cause I messed it up. I can see some glass behind the filters also so I plan on taping some background (from the old tank) to the outside to camouflage it. I think it should do the trick.

I think the crabs will really like it. It looks good I guess...I think it turned out better then I figured I could do anyways. I can't wait to see the waterfalls running; I haven't tried it yet. I have to wipe out the pools first.

let me know if it needs anything or if you have any suggestions for me. Thanks everyone for your help and advice! i am going to lay on a heating pad now lol! I'll check back later.

lol! I just read your post for my topic about finishing and noticed that we both had "GREAT" exactly the same. We must be thinking alike!

WOW, that looks AMAZING! Your crabbies will think they have died and gone to hermie heaven How many will you have in there, and how big? They will *love* it ~ I bet you will have them exploring for weeks. I can't wait to see some pictures of them in action <hint-hint>

Very nice! Once your back recovers, you'll be ready to do another one!

Re: I Finally Finished My Background Wall!

thanks everybody! I did spend alot of money, time, and effort on this but it is worth it in the end. I'll get final pics and the crabs later. i have 8 crabs right now..so plenty of room for more. i have tiny to a smaller large. I want to add more..and I will show pics of the pools/waterfalls running and things it will look awesome! The pics don't really show off the levels good, so I can get better ones later too.

Re: I Finally Finished My Background Wall!

here are some more pics with closer pics of the levels and pool. It will look better once I get the waterfall going I think, but I want to wait for the crabs...well maybe I will test it out soon before I get the crabs in there..I wanted to clean it ou first anyays.

I think when I get the rest of the stuff in there it will look better also..and with when the crabs get in there you can have a better idea of the size compared to my crabbies!
