We've Been Busy (Iguana Cage)

A couple of weeks ago I moved into an apartment with my boyfriend and haven't brought the iguana along with us.
I don't have piece by piece directions because my father put most of it together before I even saw it. It's 7' tall x 6 wide and 42" deep (4' wouldn't fit) The bottom part is for storage since there was so much wasted space in the bottom of the last cage.
Here's what we've got so far:
The frame:

A size comparison and complimentary shot of Zola:

Front:

Strength Testing:

And a complementary shot of Zola's and B*face's cages:

It's got a solid roof and sliding glass doors, once the lights are in i'll have more pictures!

That looks great Lacey!
Maybe your dad should start a sideline cage business!

Looking great. I can tell your Dad has some experience in cabinet construction. What type of material is that. Looks like a melamine coated particle board.

Re: We've Been Busy (Iguana Cage)

It's 1/2inch Beech Wood stained with Honey Oak stain. It weighs a ton. If there is a tornado I'm going to hide in the storage area in the bottom because the apartment will blow away but this thing is rock solid.

My dad works in construction and is laid off (somewhat by choice) from Thanksgiving until the beginning of March so I usually find some project to consume a little of his time every winter or he gets all weird and goes and builds another shed or a closet or lean-to or greenhouse or....you get the idea. "Idle hands are the devils playground" he stays busy.
We drew up a really rough sketch on Sunday and he had it built by Thursday, we moved it yesterday and he plans on finishing it today, so less than a week from start to finish.

He has the cages by design book, maybe I should suggest he cut the costs in half and buy a vacation home with the proceeds, haha.
