Ball Python Enclosure + Fish Tank (DU Warning)

I finally finished up my ball python enclosure. It's approx 42-44 US Gallons, for a 3' snake. I also threw in pictures of the 20L fish tank that sits above it.

The background is grout+primer-covered styrofoam, substrate is reptibark, heating is a ceramic radiant heat panel and a Under Tank Heater (under the false bottom), wood is sealed.

What do you guys think?

The Whole thing:

Fish tank overall

I am familiar with ceramic heaters and radiant heat panels but I have never heard of a ceramic radiant heat panel.
Can you post a picture of the thing?

Re: Ball Python Enclosure + Fish Tank (DU Warning)

looks great, i've really been wanting to make a enclosure for my snakes. I've got a pretty good layout, im planning on building a three piece set up that borders the extra room when we move, i plan to house a bp in one and a king in another thats about the size of your set up. Then build a 6 foot long enclosure in the center for a boa maybe. It would pretty much border three of the walls in the room. Just gotta wait till we move into the 3 bedroom in october and then get money set aside for the construction.. It'll be a long hard task, but be well worth it in the end.. anyways, enough dreaming... looks great. a step by step would be awesome.

Re: Ball Python Enclosure + Fish Tank (DU Warning)

Thanks, all I have left to do is the fun part - find some silk plants and a climbing branch or two to decorate a little bit. I'm also adding a Do-It-Yourself humidifier made with a 60 gallon air pump and a water reservoir under the false bottom.

I should have taken pictures to do a step-by-step, but I think it's too late now. Maybe next time. I might do a step-by-step on the humidifier installation. For the tank, it's just basic carpentry / building a box, but I'd be happy to give more info to anyone interested in duplicating / borrowing from my design.

If I did it again, I would do the doors differently - those hinges were very tough to hang straight.

Anyway, thanks for the good reviews. Regarding the heat panel, sorry, it's whatever the normal Pro Heat radiant heat panels. Didn't mean to confuse.

Jim
