Unfortunately it is one of the burdens we face living in Wisconsin. Heat in the basement or garage would be best. An empty bedroom would work if you can keep the door closed to trap in the fumes and crack a window.

ok here's a thought. what if I do the work and put some saran wrap with a rubberband around it to seal the fumes in?

You will be defeating the purpose.
You need the fumes to escape and sealing them in will just prolong that.

well that scraps that idea. i guess i'll clean the freakin basement. !!!!!!!!

And just a heads up, after you get everything cured you want to run the setup with the heating equipment running
for a few days. The heat will bring out more fumes.
I am in the process of building a bigger boa cage and thought I was good to go. I turned the heat on for a while and opened the door and,... whew!!

I put lamps in while it's still drying. The extra heat speeds up the curing process.

Thats a great idea.
Unfortunately I had done the main stain and seal work before assembly and the panels had been sitting out on my enclosed porch.
My wife has an extremely sensitive nose!
