new enclousure
i am building an enclosure for an Argentine Boa, for heat im thinking lights, and "floor heaters" its a kit from Menards thats basicly heat rope, but im not sure what routes to go for humidity control and substrate? its going to be an aesthetic cage, as it will be on display in our living room, so I want it to look just has good on the inside as it will on the outside. so anything for feedback would be well appreciated, id like to know just has much what shouldnt be used and what could be used.

Re: new enclousure
Adequate humidity for a boa should be able to be maintained with a water bowl under the basking bulb. If the heat rope gives off enough heat it might evaporate water into the air by placing the bowl on it as well.

Re: new enclousure
I on this case would have to disagree humidity could be controlled by a large water bowl but you'll need a very large bowl and it probability won't get you above 55% when heating with lights. Plus a with a large water bowl your boa could use to soak while this can be good, soaking is more of a sign that something is wrong. In your case this being a decorative cage I would use organic soil and plant the cage. Ferns work well as they bounce back after being trampled by large snakes. For humidity I would spray or use a misting system (once a day or two should give you the humidity you need) as well as watering the plants every three to four days.
