New Cage - What To Get

Hey all I recently received a used but in good shape cage for free from my local shop. So Im startin to research what I can put in it. Im hoping you guys can help me out!

It's a corner type cage:
Height: 52 inches
Width at the widest point: 50 inches
Depth at its deepest: 32inches

Im not lookin to get a huge snake at the moment something no bigger than 10 foot.

I've always been fond of carpet pythons and red tail boas. And when I do decide to get something Ill start with a young one and this will be its juvie/adult cage

Any info helps!

Re: New Cage. What to get?

How thick is the plywood and how sturdy is the construction?
A good sized boa is a very strong animal and substandard cageing won't hold one.
There is always a danger in getting a cage and just getting "something" to put in it. You need to make sure that it is something that interests you.
With the height you have to deal with I would go with an arboreal animal. Red tails when young will climb but later on when they get heavy are going to spend most of their time on the ground.

Re: New Cage. What to get?

that has some very nice height. I would agree on an arboreal animal. I would say tree frogs, but that's just me
