I had been intending to do an all Polycarbonate terrarium for a Chinese Water Dragon over the last month, but I've also been looking at costs, and that would run me morethen any glass tank.
So I've been thinking, reading and the like and am slowly coming up with a few ideas.
I like the idea of using wood for most of the construction, but I did notice that most of the wood enclosures that are being made have internal joinings, rather then external - I know, the external ones look less pleasing, but they allow for a smoother inside.
The reason I even think about this is because I'm wondering if I could use some sort of poly or high grade aquarium plastic 'sheet' (very, very thin) to plate the inside of the enclosure, then seal it with silicone. In effect, using the wood to act more or less as reinforcement for a thin plastic 'shell'.
I'll have to look at costs.
I also like the idea of using old furnature.

That appeals to my budget saving self. For the record, I'm looking at building an enclosure that's roughly 2' deep by 4-6' feet high, and roughly 6' long. I may shorten the length slightly to five feet, given the space I'd like to put it in.
Also depends on if I can find a peice of cheap furnature that I like that will fit the area.
