B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project)

So I have gotten started on my project and here is what I have so far. Do you think that will be enough ventilation? Its just as much as the Crossfire I think.
The yellow square shows where I am going to cut for the laybox drawer.

I will post more pictures on here as the process continues.

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

Also, what kind and size of MegaRay should I use along with the 150 heat bulb I have? Your help would be well appreciated!

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

Hello,

The Mega Ray will be depictive of the temperatures at this point. If you want a light that also produces heat, you could use the Mega Ray SB. Both the 100 and 160 watt SB models produce heat in addition to light. If you want no heat, the Mega Ray EB would be sufficient. Both models could be used in this enclosure, but both need to be placed to the suggested heights, which is dependant on your placement.

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

Looking good so far. Should be plenty of air movement. I assume you're putting sliding doors on the front, there will be air draw from that point as well. As far as the MV bulb. I would get the 150 watt and try it for heat before putting a heat lamp in. I suspect it will give off enough for the enclosure. As for the other questions. Try posting them on this site. We're not going to read them on another site and then answer them here.

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

Those questions were already answered I just put them there for you to read more on the process.
I have the same postings on this site just look up B.E.P. (with the periods) in the Search page.
I was planning on putting a MVB bulb (and a heat bulb if necessary) on one side and then putting a 15" Reptisun 10.0 on the other side since that is what I am using now and I only bought it 2 months ago so I still wanna put it to good use.
Sound good?

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

as long as the dragon has a location to get away from the UV exposure if they wish, that would be fine.

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

OK So I put the first layer of stain on it but I still have to finish it before I add everything (vents, doors, floors, lights) After that, QUESTION: How long should I wait after it is finished to put the Bearded Dragon in? Only 1 layer of stain is needed am I right?

Here is the stain and finish im using. They are both water-based. Sound good?

This pic shows the materials I am using. Not 100% on the tile but im pretty sure.

Re: B.E.P. (Breeding Enclosure Project) UPDATE!!!!

Yep it's good stuff. Only one coat of stain is needed unless you want it a darker colour. Putting more on will only change the colour and make it darker. As for the clear coat I would put on at least 2 coats. The first coat is a sealer coat and should be hand sanded before applying the next coat. It smooths it up and cuts down on the bubbles from the last coat.
