Leomom, if its thier first year of breeding odds of getting a full succes rate will be difficult. Another thing this will be alot of time and effort, and money. A lot of all 3 to say the least. I know Im a bubble burster, but im thinking of the big picture of this. Time+money+effort= Busy all the time. What if something happens and some get sick for an unknown reason, thats more money to pay into it. Vets arent cheap. Im just hoping you know what you get into.

I think I have found the containers I am going to use. I am probably going to go with a 15 quart by sterilite and they are pretty clear. Now I am still curious how I am going to handle feeding crikets. I have decided to keep my 30 gallon tank as my breeding tank so come breeding season put 3 females with a male for a week then put all my females back in their own container. Then I will have to figure out a laying container for my females but I will pass that road when I get there. No I have a Repti temp Thermostate by zoo med. will this be able to work for my control center for controling my heat. It seems to work well with the heat pad I have!

MoogleBass. I have already passed the road of them getting sick. I am in the process of getting a part time job at a pet store so I can use that to my advantage. I am aslo going to start school in the fall and I would like to specialize in herps. Its just not me in this breeding. My boyfriend and my friend is also in on this. Its not just me here most the time. Its my dad and my boyfriend. And I am not going to go just start breeding 9 females next year. I want all my females up to at least 75 grams before I start breeding so this year I have 1 female breeding. Next year I will probably just be 3. The following year probably 7 females. And then 3 years from now I will have 9 geckos. I already have several local stores I am dealing with and my brother and his buddies are setting me up a site for me to make public. I also have several people around me that are wanting babies. I have more people wanting babies then babies I will probably get this year. I breeding all my own food as far as meal worms and I deal with the local pet store and I trade mealies for crickets so I don't pay for anyfood.

That's awesome that you're able to get away without paying for food. I don't believe the Rheostat will be able to handle the extra load, but I could be wrong I have never tried one hooked up that way. Will you be using flexwatt on each shelf and wiring it together?

Get a good thermostat. Helix or something else. Get Flexwatt too. Youll more than likey have to get a 2 of them cause most only have 2 or 3 probes. Some have 4. But the more probe ports the more it monitors the more it will cost. Make the room heated at all times then you wont have to worry about that.

The Bean Farm

I know the sick thing is behind you, but you never know if they will get sick again. Its not a kid that can go mommy Im sick or something like that, It just happens. bad food most likely.
As far as the breeding thing, I do it for fun and extra money for my herps. There are to many Big breeders out there that wil lout produce you in a year. Their prices will be also cheaper depending on the morph. Normals you could probably get for 10 bucks if you talked to ron enough lol. So this whole thing of breeding big is sorta lost to me anyway. Atleast in my eyes. Best of luck to you though in your endvor.

Alright I don't kno what a helix is or a flexwatt. Um as far as my room being heated it is in my bedroom, because I live with my dad still but the room is like 80 degrees at all times except when I open my window at night to stay cool!

Flex watt is heat tape, you will go in debt using zoomeds or other store ones. Product Listing - Heating

Helix stats
Product Listing - Temperature

Herpstat Stats
Product Listing - Temperature Control

Heating the room they are in. I mean get the temp in the room to 90 at all times.
