Skulls

I have been wanting to put a skull of an animal in my tank with Loretta and was wondering if anybody knew of any cheap places to aquire them from. Not necessarily a real skull but a cast of one anyway. it seems like everywhere I have looked they are running about 100 bucks the lowest.

Thanks ahead of time

A couple years ago I bought a 6 inch wide skull for 25.99 at pet smart for my fish. It worked great for my Leopard Geckos.

Hmm, too bad you don't live in ND. I got a big box full of skulls, and there's no way Ii'll use them all. Sheep, cattle, pronghorns, deer, cats, coyotes, foxes, beaver, mouse, hawk, ....

Have you looked at some laboratory or science type websites? Some places sell them for stuff like biology classes and stuff, but you don't have to be a teacher to buy one I don't think.

If you have the stomach for it all you have to do is go out driving and find some roadkill. Make sure you practice extreme cleanliness though. Take the head off of the unfortunate car victem. If you live in an area that stays warmer during the winter, leave it outside to let nature clean it for you. You can also order special bugs that will clean it, or you can boil it for a few hours. When all or most of the flesh is gone, soak it in half bleach half water for an hour or so, and then make sure you rinse it out very good, and air it out for a few days. I used to do that to get skulls and bones for decorations, but it really takes a strong stomach.

Or another idea is to go to a halloween store in a few days where their props will be on sale.
