tha3rdman: that is some basement =) I want dart frogs..now I have an extra 10 gallon lol...well I can't anytime soon, but in the future seems like it is possible. Ihave too much right now..anyways thanks for the idea and it seems easy, but I am not sure if I am going to do that. I think he will have enough room in a 30 without turning it over. I want to see the tank first. I was told she THINKS it MIGHT be a 30~so I guess I will have to measure it to see...and then I'll see if I need the extra room. Thanks! I am going to check into some glass store of some sort to see if I can get the pieces made like that after I see the tank.

I'm jealous! All our Walmart has is auto-shut off heat pads and they cost $25!

would Leopard Geckos climb up driftwood if I have it high? I am probably going to do the sideways thing...but I was thinking maybe levels or I have a big bark like driftwood that doubles as a climb and hide...but it is big....I was thinking of using that>but I heard Leopard Geckos are clumsy and fall alot so I didn't want to have that happen =)

One of my Leopard Geckos (Cleo) is mad at the world because she wishes she was a Tokay so she climbs ll over everything, i've set up shelves and such in her 29g tall tank. B*tchface doesnt climb at all because she is very clumsy due to having Metabolic Bone Disease when she was little. Then we have scooter, he can't even climb into a mealworm dish, but he's special ed.

You can also get the non auto shut off at zellers...just look for one with nothing writen on it (no auto shut off writen on it) it doesn't actually say it shuts off. As long as the temps are good he'll be dandy. I have a 15 and really wish I got something bigger. And yes I would really recommend the biggest Under Tank Heater.

And remember, you cannot reuse them you can't pull them off and stick them onto something else because of...I can't remember...but it's writen in the package...doesn't give constant heat and risk of sparks or fire or something along those lines I believe.

yeah, but I don't take the tape off...I just sit it under the tank with the 4 rubber feet on the tank. It still gets really warm. My probe goes from 92 to 95 alot of times...so I have to keep checking it. I don't know if that is TOO HOT...I only have a double layer paper towel as a substrate for now.

so I think I am going with the 30 in its side...
BUT I didn't want to do a glass side/lid thing. I wanted a screen for better air exchange and no chance of humidity for my leo. Is that possible? I guess I would do it the same way but with a screen instead of glass? I hope I can pull this off =) It would be a huge space of a little leo =) that way I can get more lol~in the future~

I am not sure how to make a door. I would like a BIG door so I can reach everything!

Just make a frame that fits the top(now front) of the tank and make a hinge so the entire frame can swing out. Or you could divide it vertically down the center so that only half of it opens.
