New Crested Gecko Vivarium
I have finished building Elvis' new viv, and got it planted today! I'm so excited! I plan to let it sit with just the plants in it for a few weeks yet, and make sure the temps stay good with the lights, etc. Then the little guy can move in!
It's a 40-gallon tank that has a hinged front, so it folds open right across the middle of the front. It also has a screen top. I've got a dual-probe thermometer/hygrometer "installed" via a PVC pipe that's buried in the Great Stuff in the back wall of the viv -- if the unit should fail, I can remove the probes and replace with a new one (at least that's the intention). I may add a misting system at some point, but for now I will be hand-misting daily (and never leaving town, lol).
Here it is:

Looks like someone is getting spoiled. Nice bachelor pad, when is he going to get some lady friends?

Well, maybe in a couple of months! But I don't think he's big enough to breed yet. I figger I'd better build a second viv, too, so that he and the ladies can lead separate lives when necessary. Which means he may only live in this one part-time, and have his own "pad" the rest of the time. So I guess I need to think about that before I get the lady friends!

For a small fee, Colleen...
Actually, I had so much fun with this one that I might do it for free. But I think the shipping would kill that idea...
