Golden or Marble?

Hello everyone!

Wow, I havn't been here in ages. I truely LOVE this fourm. But my computer has been having major problems and I cannot load the site at all. Well, I can but it takes like 35minutes per page! Anyways, I'm currently on a different one. I don't know if anyone remembers me, I was here more before the new HC change and reposts and all that.

Well, I been working at a pet storefor quite some time. I do the small animals section. Care and sell them. This week I actually got to do the reptile order! Exciting. =) And we had a few blank areas. So I got to order something totally new. I had to start off with something cheap and I wanted geckos. All we sell is Leopard Geckos and everyones always like 'that isnt a real gecko it doesnt climb walls!'. *lol* So I wanted a wall climber.

I decided on Goldens and Marbles. They are quite tame and are priced each at $14.99. I was just wondering if anyone has them and how are they? I know the care and all, but I was just wondering which yuo like better? =)

Well I'd say we can't decide this for you. You'd have to examine them both and see which one is healthier. But I personaly like marbles more

Thanks. Yeah I agree - I am not purchasing one. So I was asking everyone elses opinion. Or tips maybe? I'll be caring for these guys at the store daily and advising people to buy them. So I was just asking. I have not ever kept either.

I guess it depends on whether the person is capable and willing to care for them then. If they are, its really up to which they prefer. If they're not, then it doesn't matter what they prefer I like and have kept both

I have had goldens before and they are defently not something to handle because they are very nervous and fragile and you can easily hurt them. Marbeled geckos I heard are aggressive but not sure how bad their bite is and they are also not for handeling.

Like the vast majority of lizards, neither are good for handling, just looking at.

Yeah, we only have 1 Marble at work now, but 4 Goldens left. Can they be housed together? I know it's a big NO, but they put them together at work, considering it's the same care and it should only be a few days til we sell the other Marble.

Oh question time! Yesterday I was cleaning them out and I found an egg! It was like dried up, but it was an egg! I'm pretty sure all the Goldens are males and that Marble sure looks like a male. Is it possible the Marbles laid eggs? They easy to breed?

Both species lay eggs. I imagine if you had both sexes and the proper husbandry, you could get them to breed without much effort.
