i was going to get them at one time. your talking about ptychozoon kuhli right? well they are pretty cool little geckos. The only problem is finding CB ones, most are Wc and laden with red mites. If you can find some CB ones then go for it. A pair will live comfortably in a 20 gal tall aquarium. No heating needed but an Under Tank Heater mounted to the back wall on one side with some cork bark propped up over it, this allows to geckos to thermoregulate while hidden behind the cork bark. They are primarily insectivores and crickets are a perfect staple. Keep the humidity moderate by spraying once every day or every other day and they will drink off of the leaves in the plants in the enclosure. Use a bark type substrate so that it's less likely that the geckos will ingest the substrate when feeding. Provide plenty of climbing space and plenty of hiding spots so that they can hide during the day time (they are nocturnal). Add some fake plants in the enclosure and your all set. They are not very hard to breed either, they will glue their eggs to the side of the enclosure. If you catch them early enough, you may be able to safely remove the eggs and put them into an incubator. if not, then put a cup with some moistened paper towel or moss in the bottom over the egg inside the enclosure and drill a few air holes in the side of the cup. remoisten as needed and make sure the wet medium doesnt come in direct contact with the eggs. babies need to be fed plenty of crickets and can usually be housed together. Not a species to be held unless needed, mostly just an animal to watch.

have fun!

(oh and btw, my avatar pic is of a flying gecko)

I have just the one and its WC but its doing great now. The only thing was he had some parisites but they can be removed if your careful. I removed them and hes great now but if you were not knowledgeble or confident enough you would probly have to make a vet visit.

I had one years ago. She was one of my favorite pets ever. She too had red mites, but I took care of that. Unfortunately, she just dissapeared one day. There was no place for her to escape in the enclosure either, so its still a mystery today.

red mites are tough little devils. Best to quarintine the infected animal and treat it every day with a anti-parasite bath and clean it's cage daily, which should be simple with paper towel substrate. Everything should be cleaned in scalding water daily while the animal is being soaked, and then spray the cage with an anti-mite spray like "provent-a-mite". Wait till the spray is dried and then put the animal back. If you have a very small or fragile animal, you might want to do it every other day or so, just to keep it's stress level down. And be careful of arboreal geckos, most of them will lick the mite spray off of the cage ornaments which could kill them.

I just got one today!
He was $24.99!
I am not sure if he is WC or CB, but I have never seen red mites before. Where do I look and what do they look like?

What is the price range we should be looking at for one or a pair if they are CB?
