Tink, red mites loot like tint red dots on the gecko. They like to hide sometimes too. They're pretty tiny, usually smaller than a pinhead, so you'll have to look closely.

Breeding Flying Geckos

I was wondering if any of you knew how to breed Flying geckos and what to do with the eggs once they are out of the female.

They are not very hard to breed either, they will glue their eggs to the side of the enclosure. If you catch them early enough, you may be able to safely remove the eggs and put them into an incubator. if not, then put a cup with some moistened paper towel or moss in the bottom over the egg inside the enclosure and drill a few air holes in the side of the cup. remoisten as needed and make sure the wet medium doesnt come in direct contact with the eggs. babies need to be fed plenty of crickets and can usually be housed together.

Those littel guys will latch on and not let go. At least thats my experience. I don't know if I'd mount the Under Tank Heater to the back wall. You risk burning the gecko. You might not have had any problem in the past, but its just like using a heat rock. It only takes one time.

But other then that, I think he's covered pretty much everything.

We've gotten in flying geckos before and I never noticed any mites or anything that would make me think they had parasites. We got em from either Wilson Pet Supplies or A-pet. You probably won't be able to order them yourself, but if you can find a pet store near you who gets their animals from them, see if they can order them for ya. We haven't had em on lthe list lately so its probably the down time for em.

Whether they are captive bred or wild caught, I coudln't tell ya.

Best of luck in your search.
