Try asking some breeders that sell that particular type of gecko...they might have some info. Also try looking up caresheets for them.

I have looked for breeders and caresheets, i asked breeders about inqubation temps and time when it was still an egg and I never got answered. I know how to take care of the adults but im afraid of hurting the baby, I have a ten gallon set up with papertowel and 6 small hides. I moved him from his inqubation cup to a larger container with amoist papertowel but he's still in the inqubator.
does anyone know what do with other geckos when they hatch? do you leave babys in the inqubator for a few hours-days? can I move him to the ten gallon right away?
how soon after hatching do most geckos start eating?

Hello,

Treat the baby the same way you do the parent, only on a smaller level. Use a smaller tank, or add a divider (cardboard) to the 10 gallon. Keep him nice and toasty, and feed him pinheads.

Everything the adults need, the babies need as well. Papertowel would be a good substrate for him while he is little.

ok I put him in a ten gallon, divided with a peice of cardboard. i flatted a paper towel tube and cut it into six peice and scatterd them around so he has plenty of places to hide, paper towel substrate. i ordered 7day old crickets overnight 9 but they ship on monday so they probably be here tuesday. so i'll run down to the petstore tomorrow and ask for the smallest bugs they have.
he's shedding his skin. does that give any idea how many days old he is, its been atleast three days since I checked the egg last so I dont know

Hello,

He is around 2-3 days old. I know with leo hatchlings, they will shed their first skin fairly quickly. (normally within the first few days). Once they shed, they will begin eating.

I am not up to par on dune geckos, so I can't offer more specific advice. I would like to see some pics though once he is settled in!

well so far he seems healthy, he hides and runs. he almost a perfect min except his color is more pink then the yellow like his mom. im going to put a coin in his tank and see if I can get a picture of him close enough to it to show his size, he looks about 1and a half to 2 inches long.
i named him Uno becuase he was a single egg layed a few days after the first two and he's the only one that hatched. i wish I had something small enough for him to eat but for now he'll have to wait till tomorrow

Congratulations "Mom!" You must be so excited about Uno... and great name by the way! I agree with Rich, hatchlings usually need the same care as adults for the basics. Just make sure he's subjected to as little stress as possible, and try not to handle him too much til he gets a little bigger -- wee ones are fragile. It sounds like you've got things pretty much under control though, he's in great hands!
