Marbled Gecko Care?

Today we got a Marbled Gecko (complete with 25g enclosure) from a friend who is moving due to a family emergency.



He's two years old and his name is 'Goo'

I am just looking for some info as to their general care. I don't think the lighting is right for him (no UVB or basking bulb, it's an aquarium-type CFL) but I'm still reading up on them. I added a water dish to help increase the humidity and add some "flare" to the tank. He has a heat pad and the substrate is peat moss.

Anyways, any pointers or links to good websites would be appreciated!

It was one of those split decision things, as he needed a home and we couldn't help but think how many dumbasses would just leave him and not really research/care much about his well being.

Never heard of a marbled gecko before. It looks like an alien lol reminds me of those silkback bearded dragons.

I can't find much solid info at all on these guys!
But I am doing the best I can with what I do know and he seems to be doing quite well.

I did try that, but I still seem to be getting some conflicting information.
Such as proper humidity levels, that's a main one I am noticing.
Some say they need low humidity, others say high. I've kept it kinda in the middle and he seems to be doing well.

Find out what their native habitat is/where they come from. That may give you a better idea as to what kind of humidity they should be kept at.

They are from southern Australia, I found a care sheet on them, I've looked around and this seems to be what the majority is saying.

However, I am starting to wonder if he even is a Marbled Gecko.... Every resource I have found says they are about 50-70mm from snout to vent, I am not sure if that is correct but Goo is quite a bit larger than that.

I took this first photo to show how big he is and a few others to show his features.










I also wanted to mention, he changes tones to match the background he is on. I don't know if that is an indicator of species or not (can't seem to find much on it in regards to MGs) but I think it's pretty cool. As you can see comparing these photos to the first one of him I posted, when he is on the log he changes to a dark brown tone. When on the glass he changes to a light yellowish-tan type of tone.

No, I said 50-70mm! Hahaha

Which is about 1-2 inches. Seems small to me... Especialy considering most sources say they're about 8" full grown. As shown above, Goo is about 4" from snout to vent and is about 7-8" with his tail.
