    Golden Identity

At this local pet store they have a tank labeled "Golden Gecko (Assorted)" and have the scientific name listed as Hemidactylus spp. Any clue as to what gecko this is? Or the common name I should say?

I ask this because it is a healthy, active, interesting animal, and might get it in the future.

    Re: Golden Identity

Hemidactylus contains lots of species though I don't know one that has the name golden. Some Hemidactylus spp. are very nice looking, though they are far from common. It's most likely a Hemidactylus frenatus or house gecko they have many color forms. Or maybe Hemidactylus m. maculatus.
