Re: Geckos Would Be Great Gots Some Questions Tho
We generally don't recommend housing multiple species of any kind together.

You could try multiple geckos of the same species in the enclosure.

You really need to research this. I would suggest to NEVER mix species, you also need to keep in mind the male to female ratio to keep a healthy population. Males can be very aggressive in mating season, meaning multiple females per male

Crested Geckoes would probaly work great, they stay rather small, come in very different colors, and do well in small groups.
A male and 2 females could be housed in a 29 gallon tank.

Crested geckos would be something to consider, I'm with the others, housing multiple species in the same enclosure is never a good idea.

Re: Geckos Would Be Great Gots Some Questions Tho
A nice alternative to housing together might be to create two or three habitats and keep them side by side. It almost gives the illusion that they are together, but you don't have to worry about the different species spreading diseases to each other or fighting.
Just make sure that if they can see each other, they aren't becoming stressed out.

Re: Geckos Would Be Great Gots Some Questions Tho
Unfortunately pet store workers, even the ones that specialize in reptiles, don't often know what they're talking about. Many times it's simply because they've been trained by the pet store incorrectly, but more often it's that the goal is to sell as much as possible.
If you told someone that not only could they not house three species together, but in most cases only one to a cage, how many animals would someone buy? Probably just one considering the cost of supplies. But if you tell them that you can safely house a bunch of species together in a 10 g tank, you're going to sell a lot more of them.
