P. Standingi

We got a call out on a pair of 3 month old P. Standingi they were in suprisingly good heath. So we adopted them. Their hunting and eating well though a lot more calm then P.mad. grandis. Here a picture of the male.

I've never heard of them, but they are so pretty. How big are they?

Their both just over 4" now. I'm really surprised that you've both never heard of them. Over here it seems the Standings day gecko is just behind P. grandis. In my opinion they are really the easiest day gecko to keep.

The run down
P. Standingi (Standings day gecko)
From South Madagascar
males and females up to 10"
Mean temp in natural area 23.4C Record high 38.6C
Hatchlings can be kept with parents up until breeding age. If a hatching is caught by a parent (ie. while feeding) they squeak and the parent let's go right away. Due to them living in drier areas they are also a bit thicker skinned than other day geckos making them less prone to injury from bites handling (though still not recommended).

Re: P. Standingi

Very nice. They are the more calmer ones than the P. m grandis. They get a bit smaller but not much though. I like them, but I when I was looking, I got the grandis instead due to more color. I may get a standingi soon though.
