Giant Leaf Tail Gecko
Does anyone know much about the Giant Leaf Tail Gecko (Uroplatus Fimbriatus)?
Someone wants to sell me one, and honestly, I'd really like to buy it. It looks like an interesting lizard. The problem is that so far the caresheets I've found have been pretty basic. One didn't even give me any information on humidity or temperatures! I'd like to know more about them before I decide whether it would be a good idea. So if you know of a good care sheet or book that can give me a better idea, I'd appreciate it. Actually if anyone knows the going price for one that's probably a year or two old, too, that would be helpful. I really don't want to be paying twice as much as it's worth. ![]() I appreciate any help you can give me. I'm still going to go searching for information on my own as well.

Re: Giant Leaf Tail Gecko
They are a very delicate gecko. Mostly for display. They require high humidity I know that. Also I've heard people talk about not being able to leave them for long time with out misting them(Uroplatus in general.) Other than that, thats all I know.

Re: Giant Leaf Tail Gecko
That's really helpful, actually. So I'd need to plan carefully for vacations, and probably I'd need to get a timed mister.

Re: Giant Leaf Tail Gecko
I keep uroplatus sikorae, and they need high humidity and temps around 70 deg. give or take a few degs. I am not sure of the going rate for them. I know that cb is about twice what wc ones cost. If they are cb I don't think the seller would have any problem selling the animal. They are being breed next to none in the states.

Re: Giant Leaf Tail Gecko
I don't think he's a breeder. I think it's just one of his collection that he no longer wants. But I'll definitely keep that in mind to ask him. I'd venture it's wild caught, though.
