Actually, I think it might be a turner's thick-toed gecko (Pachydactylus turneri). Most "bibrons geckos" in pet stores turn out to actually be turners geckos. They're nearly identical. Judging by the picture of his face you provided though, I'm guessing turners. In bibrons geckos the scales bordering the mental scale are small, but in turners they're larger, and nearly the same diameter. The mental scale is the big one on the "chin" that borders the "lips". Now, I just read this info, I've never seen pics that compare the two though. I had a "bibrons gecko" for about 8 years, but now I need to re-analyze the pics of him cause he may have well been a turners all along. If I remember, I may post some pics of him tomorrow for you to see. Oh, also, there are several different subspecies of turners geckos, but I don't remember their names.
Here are some supposed turners geckos. You camn see how one would very easily confuse the two species: http://raceface.privat.t-online.de/g...on/bibron.html

hmmm, if thats the case, theres a very confused breeder out there. i didn't get this guy at a petshop, i got him from a breeder at a reptile expo.
i compared the shot from the link I have with the shots from your link and with my pictures, and to me, they all look like the same lizard. is it possible that turneri and bibrons ARE the same lizard, maybe just from different areas? what little i've read say the two get confused for each other. i don't see any differences in them myself, but i'm still no expert. any idea if there is a definitive way to tell the difference? but thanks for that link furry (yet another that isn't in english, finding info on this guy has been so difficult. if its a tuneri, then at least theres more info available on those guys....) more opinions needed ![]()

Check the scales next to the mental scale. I dunno, yours looks like the ones I've seen most often in stores, but it doesn't look quite like mine. Well, for the most part yours is nearly identical, but its the head thats different to me. Yours has a head that looks almost like the velociraptor from Jurassic Park (even though velocies were actually less than half that size). Most of the ones in stores also look like yours. I can't really pinpoint exactly what it is about mine taht made him look different, but mostly it was the head. It just didnt look quite like yours. I've only seen a few others that looked like mine. The scales around his mental also weren't quite like yours. Here's some pics of him. Not many good ones though, but compare Gex's first head shot to yours and maybe you'll see what I mean.

mmmm, and yours was definitely a bibrons? i do see a difference between yours and mine. you gex's head is shorter, particularly noticeable is that mine has a longer snout..........longer head in general (and your right, it DOES look a little like a velociraptor
). pardon my ignorance but I don't get what the mental scale is, could you clarify that better? thanks for the help here furry, would be nice to know for certain what my little guy is (would also be nice to figure out if its a little guy or a little girl...........i'm working on that )

I described the mantal scale in one of the previous posts. Its the big one on the chin that borders the mouth. Supposedly (now I've only read this), in turners geckos the scales to the left and right of the mental are also large, and about the same diameter. In bibrons, the scales next to the mental are smaller. That's why I think yours might be a turners, the scales seem to be about the same size as the mental.
Plus yours looks like nearly every one I've seen in pet stores, and most in pet stores are actually turners. See, years ago, turners geckos were unknown. Both species were known as bibrons. Then it was discovered that that there were actually two species, not one. Most of the ones in pet stores are imported out of the turners' home range, not bibrons, so most of the so called bibrons out there are really turners. IMO, Gex was a true bibrons, and yours is a turners. Oh, and its scary how much your gecko looks like a raptor! Maybe you've finally found a name for him? Oh, and to sex him, you'll have to get a look at his underside. Males will have a hemipenal bulge, females won't. Males will also have larger pre-anal or femoral pores, or both.
