Yeah, it depends hugely on what species you're interested in. Many geckos are extremely solitary and will get stressed in the presence of others, or fight them, especially males. If you get a colony, it would be very important to make sure you don't have too many males together, if any. Leopard Geckos will get along (but not males), geckos in the genuses Pachydactylus, Hemidactylus, and Tarentola will often do well in small colonies (again, with no more than 1 male). These would include bibrons geckos, thick toes geckos, most of the house geckos, wall geckos, moorish geckos, white-spotted geckos... Now, if you get anything that can climb glass, I can guarantee you'll have a little trouble keeping all your gex accounted for though, so you may want to go with Leopard Geckos. They're pretty easy to care for anyway, and are CB. Leopard Geckos would be your best choice IMO.
