Re: i need some help
I personally feel that a 5 gal would be enough for just ONE house gecko....some people would believe a 10 gal would be better. I have had house geckos in the past and they basically stick to the wall of the tank...cuties though..check out yard sales for a great deal...petco is so expensive...oh or check walmart...they sell tanks sometimes also.....good luck!

Re: i need some help
I don't know anything about geckos, but do they need any kind of heat gradient? Because that's really hard to get in 5-10 gallon tanks.
Sorry, just wondering. I've never had a house gecko.

Re: i need some help
You can get a 10 gal tank at Walmart for about 10 bucks.
Petsmart or Petco will be higher.

Re: i need some help
I rarely recommend anything smaller than 10 gallons, regardless of species. But anyway, that's the minimum I'd recommend for a house gecko. Speaking of which, there are many species of house gecko, as the name "house gecko" only refers to the genus Hemidactylus. The individual species within having more specific names.
It will be easier to provide a temperature gradient in a 10 gallon than it would in a 5, the gecko will have more room, you will be able to put more in the tank without overcrowding it, and it will be easier to work with. House geckos are not a gecko to be handled, and they're very sneaky, so the smaller the tank the harder it will be to open the lid and still keep the gecko inside. A 20 gallon would be even better, and will fit more geckos should you decide to get more down the line. And as Merlin mentioned, you can get a 10 gallon and a screen lid (you don't want a fishtank hood), at Walmart for less than you can at a major pet chain.
