Re: White Spot Gecko help...

White-spotted geckos, Tarentola annularis, are also known as white-spotted wall geckos, annulated geckos/wall geckos or ringed geckos/wall geckos. They're native to sub-Saharan northern Africa, and thus are built for relatively dry habitats. They are a very adaptable species though and are capable of thriving in a variety of ecosystems. There are successful populations of this species springing up in Florida where they out-compete native species and even introduced house geckos and tokay geckos, an example of the species' versatility.

A 20 gallon should house one gecko. Default requirements for an arboreal nocturnal gecko include branches and logs, vertical places to hide, and an independence from UVB lighting. Humidity can be moderate, around 60%, though they can tolerate much lower and higher amounts. Temperature should be around 70-75 F and 80-85 at the warm end, with a basking spot of around 90 degrees F. I'd keep a shallow water dish and mist lightly daily.

Being nocturnal they tend to avoid light whenever possible, and mine has greatly preferred a heat pad to a heat lamp. They're rather skittish though, and not a species that's good for handling. In fact, with their timid nature and quick speed, they're rather good at escaping should you try and catch yours.

Re: White Spot Gecko help...

They're the only "white-spotted" gecko that I know of, so I assume as much. They're really a breeze to keep, like big house geckos. Not very exciting though. Kind of like scaly fish, only they don't move as much, but I still like them
