I think my Gecko is dead :(

My friend brought round a gecko about a fortnight ago which apparently came from Portugal in his dad's suitcase by accident, so I'm guessing it is a Meditarrenean Gecko. I've gotten back tonight, checked up on it, tried to pick it up and I sensed something was wrong... the gecko isn't moving at all and is in a frozen position, there is no sign of movement whatsoever.

Anyway, I've read up on brumation and could it just be that it is brumating cos of the recent cold temparature in the UK, or am I right in thinking it is dead - I certainly hope it isn't, but then again it is not breathing or moving and there is no pupil dilation or anything. It lost its appetite a few days ago as well, we've fed it two maggots and a spider since it was brought to my house just over a fortnight ago.

Any experts out there that could relieve my worry (if it is dead then I wouldn't be suprised), my friends and I are all heavy smokers and as its in an open container, maybe the smoke killed it?

Please help!

Yeah, that's definitely a dead gecko I'm afraid Did you manage to get any pictures of it? If you're still curious I wouldn't mind trying to figure out what species it is.
