Another question I have is do yu have to feed crickets as staple? or could worms be used instead? if so which ones are better? i know one of them is really fatty and should only be used as treats!
Yes, it's possible to tame them but it's probably the 13th labor of Hercules =)
Take a look at these 2 threads by Guinevere.

I think they bite like the rest, I mean, you have the quick and dry warning bite and the mean and nasty "die pink thing die" =)
About this last one, I've seen pictures of geckos firmly holding to a finger while their owners prepare to put them under running water.

Crickets should be staple otherwise they'll get fat very fast. Oddly enough mine eats stuff I've never seen in caresheets like fruit, baby food and Gargoyle Gecko Meal Replacement Powder from T-Rex and loves it.

Last but not least make sure you are prepared for any outcome of this situation in case you're going to keep it.
I took mine in a similar situation to yours and my initial plan was to tame mine just to the point where I could approach the enclosure or put some food in without her going berserk (she was more than a year old when I got her so didn't had more expectations than this).
Many months later things were the same if not worst. The experience was causing her so much stress that I decided to end it.
So now I have this gecko I barely see and don't interact at all. Not my idea of pet.

Thanks Rbl,

So now do I decide to take it and not really have much interaction with it or let it suffer elsewhere?

So how do you clean out the tank if you cant really touch them? and other things like that? the amount I handle my snake to do daily chores (apart from post feed)

You might have a totally different outcome from your efforts. Yours might end up a quiet and trusty gecko.
When I took mine, I did it because she was in the store for more than a year and remain unsold. During that period she escaped and was missing for 3 months and no one cared! The day I saw her at the store, she had no price and for the looks of it, they were waiting for her to die or escape again although she was perfectly healthy. I thought the immorality of it was unbearable.
And despite everything I told you so far, I still think I did the right thing. It makes me sad not being able to enjoy her but I prefer it to the idea of letting an animal die because it was unmarketable.

Cleaning? Easy! Kind of... =)
I made everything possible to interact with her the least. I have her in a naturalistic enclosure with lots of live plants. That reduces the maintenance a lot. If needed, once a month I clean the entire thing through but usually there's nothing much to do. Every week I clean the water and food recipients, although she barely uses them since she drinks from the dripping system and the crickets free roam the enclosure.
Whenever I need it, I gently push her to a hide made of deli cups and close her there.
The system is simple: cut a hole on the side of 2 deli cups in a way they overlap perfectly when you put one cup inside the other; put the lid on the inside cup and place them top down inside the enclosure. When the gecko goes in, you just rotate 90º the outside cup so that the holes are now in opposite sides and the gecko is trapped inside.

I believe there is quit a few names for this gecko, such as skunk gecko, white lined gecko, palm gecko, so maybe you want to check out a few sites before you decide. My b/f cousin has 2 of them. They are very neat but they do require alot of work. They also need a nice sized enclosure for proper lighting and living acquirements. I know he is in bad shape and is "FREE" but you should make sure your going to be good for him and are going to be able to care for him properly.
