Hey everyone! The other day I was at the pet store and they had really cute Gecko they had labled as a Leucistic Blizzard Gecko. I've tried looking them up but all I can find is Blizzard "Leopard" Gecko. I'm going to assume that they are just an albino leopard gecko only because I know that leucistic means patternless. So I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them. Like are they just an albino leo? Would they live the same way a leo would? Just anything general about them? Well thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks in advance for any replys.

Completely patternless, with only faint traces of yellow coloration remaining, these are true leucistic Leopard Geckos. The very best grow to be nearly pure white, with steely blue-gray eyes. We no longer breed these exclusively, but produce a few here and there from various heterozygous outcrosses, and they may be priced higher if the genetics involved warrant it.

Its not really albino, because it has the dark eyes. Its body is totally white and you can see its organs more under the belly. What Nate said,,,he beat me.

generaly the term leucistic refers to an animal that is white and is the result of a reduction in all pigments as opposed to albinism where there is a lack of melanin.
The chief noticable difference is albinos have red or pink eyes while leucistic animals have normal colored eyes.

ohhh ok. So its not albino. Its a patternless leo? So it can be taken care of just like a leo?

Oh, a bit of advice, its a newly hatched blizzard or albino, id keep it away from light. It will effect their eyes

Petstores are strange. My daughter and I saw a guinea pig that was labeled as being a "teddy" (type of hair texture). I think they went by the coloring on the tag since it matches the GP they have in the tank. My daughter is like "that is NOT a teddy" LOL

I see hermit crabs labeled tropical, native and imported. ahuh?
