2 Questions...
Hey everyone! I have 2 questions. 1. My Gecko has been sleeping in her water dish. Yes theres water in it and shes resting her head on the egde of the dish. Is this normal??? 2. Her color is fading kind of like shes got a white layer. I wonder if this means she is getting ready to shed? I just want to make sure that everything is ok with her. Thanks!

Yep, sounds like shes in shed. What kind of gecko do you have? Is it one that requires a humid hide?

I have a Leopard Gecko. Im still learning about them. Someone was going to get rid of her (let her outside) and I couldnt let it happen so I took her in. So I wasnt too prepared.

you'll get a shock when she is a nice bright new color all of a sudden...they eat their sheddings.....
i would supply her with a humid hide box if she feels the need to soak. |

Ok thanks. Do they shed all at once or little by little. She has a hide box. What should I do to make it humid? I spray her home down a couple times a day. Is that ok?

Then you definitely need a moist hide for the leo to go into, this is important for proper shedding. Tell us about your set up...and here is a link to the Leo Care sheet..

Well I did read the care sheet thats on here when I first got her to make sure I had the right temps, so thats all good. She has a hide box that we made out of card board. She doesnt do in it much. I dont have to stuff in the bottom of it though. I will have to go out and get that. She also has a plastic log thing. Its like a dome. Open on both ends and a hole in the top. Shes in there alot. And NO SAND. I just used paper. And her water dish.
