Fly Traps...

Some of the fly traps have started growing again due to the fair weather. Heres a few pictures to get started.

they are so cool! What do you feed them? I attempted to have one a while ago and remember that the people that sold it to me said small pieces of ground beef would work, but it didn't really seem to thrive on that. I think I was able to keep it alive for about 6 months...

I just let mine catch what they can when their outside for the year (the coldest part of the year their dormant and are placed in the garage so they don't get too cold), but crickets or other insects would be good about once a month. I don't know what may have killed yours, but after 6 months, if you didn't try to repot it or let it dry out, my guess would be hard water. It's one of the top mistakes made by most people, rain or mineral free water is a must. That, and trying to grow them indoors all year without a dormancy period are the top fly trap killers.

Liz mine was tiny, could barely get a piece of beef small enough to try feeding it...
