Yay for gardens~~~!!!

I will try to snap some photos of my garden this weekend and post. I will also take photos of the estate garden I am responsible for this summer, and then I will keep posting updates as new things get planted and cleaned up. The place has gone down the toilet and its up to me to bring it back to life.

getting paid to garden. how fabulous!

Re: Yay for gardens~~~!!!

Sounds like fun. I bought a house in November that had been empty for 5 years while the lady that lived there was in a nursing home. The only thing that had been done was mow the lawn. Getting into the flowerbeds was like a trip through the jungle. I have volunteer trees in there with trunks an inch thick!
Wheres my machete!

Re: Yay for gardens~~~!!!

"volunteer trees" -- lol! I calls 'em weeds!

I love to garden. I see more cool critters when I'm in my garden! I do flowers (mainly perennials), veggies, and I'm trying my hand at blueberries and raspberries this year. I love flowering shrubs because they're low-maintenance, and I especially love the ones that bear berries for the critters. I have been contemplating a small water feature for my garden, but haven't worked up the energy, courage or savings for it yet...

Thats how this house is. She hasn't lived there for 3 summers now and the weeds have taken over. There are a bazillion baby japanese maple trees, poison ivy everywhere (good thing I'm not allergic) and these weird little daisies. Its going to take me a good month to pull all the weeds and get the flower beds ready for perennials.

Re: Yay for gardens~~~!!!

I'm serious. If they really are japanese maples. You can't even find the seedlings around here! All you see is 3ft tall potted ones and they are outrageously expensive.
