Re: food allergies

I dont know if you call this an allergy but I have to stay away from greasy foods because I have no gallbladder (removed when I was 18). If I eat really greasy foods the pain is almost unbearable! So no mcdonalds, burger king and such. Not that its a real big loss now, but I thought I was going to die when I was 18, lol.

Here is a full list of the things I have to cut out. I want to cry because this list is pretty much 2/3 my current diet.
* Beans in tomato sauce
* Beer
* Beets
* Blackberries
* Black and red raspberries
* Blueberries
* Celery
* Chard
* Chocolate
* Cocoa
* Coffee powder (Nescafe)
* Collards
* Concord grapes
* Crackers made from soy flour
* Currants
* Dandelion greens
* Eggplant
* Escarole
* Fruit cake
* Fruit salad (canned)
* Green bell pepper
* Grits (white corn)
* Juices containing berries
* Kale
* Leeks
* Lemon and lime peel
* Nuts (especially peanuts and pecans)
* Okra
* Ovaltine
* Parsley
* Pokeweed
* Rhubarb
* Rutabagas
* Spinach
* Strawberries
* Summer squash
* Sweet potatoes
* Tea
* Tofu
* Tomato soup
* Wheat germ
I was going to suggest spaggetti squash to replace the pasta, but from your list it appears that squash and tomato products are out. Glass noodles would also work. Sauces can be made with garlic, butter and fresh sage, but I would draw the line at not having cheese.

Re: food allergies

dairy's and meats are fine for me. I found out from more research that totally processed wheat is fine, like white pasta and white bread. Its the whole grain wheat I have to stay away from.

The berries are still killing me. I LOVE berries.

Re: food allergies

Oh, how ironic! For your health, you have to steer clear of whole grains and toward white, processed flour! The rest of us are busy doing the opposite... I hope you get it straightened out soon, and I wish you good health!
