We vacationed in North Carolina's Outer Banks when Kate was like 2. I remember the pulled pork sandwichs. They weren't bad.

But nothing beats a good old juicy burger on the grill and it has to be charcoal not gas grills hear. We use cowboy charcoal we get from Trader Joe's. It is real wood charcoal not those little black bricks. Of course you have to have some homemade potato salad.

Ok I'll confess my family doesn't eat barbeque. I have tried it several times and the boys won't eat it after they beg for burgers, or hot dogs on the grill. So I just deal with George Forman. LOL

Folks, some of you are confusing grilling (short term cooking, usually over direct heat) with real BBQ (slow, slow cooking over indirect heat). Gas is an abomination, only good for heating up my cast iron "Blackening" skillet, crawfish boils, deep frying turkeys, large pots of chili or gumbo or steaming crabs. Might as well just cook on the stove.

BBQ is an art, that most often can be timed by the number of beers it takes!

If it wasn't the consistency of a charcoal briquette it wasn't done enough!

But then she didn't like reptiles either!
