Field Herping in Thailand

It is wonderful in the field here. Within a 5km radius of my home, I have recorded 26 species of reptiles from hatchling 2cmHemidactylus frenetus to 4 metre Python molurus bivittatus. There is currently a large Python reticulatus on the outskirts of my neighbourhood that I was called upon to relocate, but have not found it yet.

The reptiles in the US are very popular overseas. One of the most sought after reptiles here is Heloderma suspectum. A Pituophis melanoleucus found its way to the pet trade here and commanded a price of over $100 USD. You have many wonderful species over there; I spent many years in Southern California along the coast and the deserts and that is an area of wonderful herpetological diversity.
