Hope this is allowed.. got a few questions.

I'm in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and was wondering when to start looking for herps. I'm going to a public activity sort of thing, with two herpetologists soon, with a group of thirty people, looking through and learning about vernal ponds soon.

So, I know I can look for some salamanders now, but when can I start looking for snakes and frogs? And another question, has anyone gone to Jacobsburg Park in PA, and have any info about it? I've never gone, but I'd really like to, and is it a good area to find snakes and lizards?

Many years ago we went the area around Falling Water during spring break in April and the fire belly newts were all over the place. I think it might have been their breeding season. First time I ever saw a newt. My oldest son was excited about the experience.
