WC Eggs Hatching

About 3 weeks ago, I got a call from one of the Wife's Aunts. She found 20 eggs under a hay bale and wanted to know what they were. She had broken upen 2 of them (which really irked me) and found snakes in them, and got scared that they were venemous snakes. So I went over and picked up the eggs brought them home and put them in the incubator. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the Eggs themselves, but yesterday when I got home from work, I checked on them and found 16 snakes in the box, and 2 more that were pipping. So, here are 2 pics of my latest find. They are some sort of Rat snake, probably a West Texas Rat or a Grey Rat. Still not positive yet. Probably going to keep 1 or 2 of them, but haven't decided what to do with the others yet.

They actually look a lot like Anery Corn snakes, but I am way out of range for Corns to be found wild here.

They are so beautiful. That is so awsome that you were able to successfully hatch so many. I doubt half as many would of ended up making it in even in the wild. Thanks for sharing. I needed some good news today.

Yea, I was very surprised when I looked and saw that they hatched. So now I get to wait a week till they shed, then offer them food. If they all eat, I will probably keep all of them and try and find homes for them (sell them). Already have quite a few people that have contacted me and are interested. So we will see.

As far as them surviving in the wild, it is starting to get close to winter here, and with them just now hatching most probably would have been gotten by predators, and other would have died through the brumation time. So I am glad that I was able to catch them.

Thanks for all the great comments.
