Herping.. Pics..

So Dawn and I went herping/canoeing on Monday out at the Rainbow River and we saw at least 150+ different individual Penn. cooters (P. f. peninsularis), 4 Florida red bellies (P. nelsoni), 15 juvenile and baby alligators (A. mississippiensis), several species of 'swamp type' birds and one Florida water snake (N. f. pictiventris), which was our first snake of the season and our only snake to date..

Now, I have no pictures because -Dawn- forgot the camera in her truck so it's her fault I have no pictures.. Except of this anole that was on the film, which is cool too. I don't remember finding him that day..?

Tuesday we decided to try some more herping since the day was grand, and we went up to Orange Lake and surrounding areas and found several spiffy creatures such as:

Komodo Dragon!

The Great American Symbol..

To be continued...

And the best finds of the day..
20" alligator

3-4' alligator

5-6' alligator

4'ish alligator

By the end of the day, I was so excited Dawn decided to take my photo to cherish the moment..

Dawn swore she would not enter a single place that inhabited any amount of people with any evidence of knowing me this day.. I still can't figure out why..
