    Another Trip on the Way!

The family is planning on taking a trip down to the everglades this summer. For this I'm buying a 52 inch long snake tong for extra safty and I'm gonna try for a water moccasin. I have worked with venom before and its no biggie for me.

But the question here is, when do the gator start having there hatchlings? I wanted to do some research and try to measuyre and wiegh the hatchlings.

    Hey KK,

I don't mean to put a damper on your upcoming trip, but it is against Florida state law to harass or even touch the gators. Also, mother gators are notorious for protecting their young. Trying to handle hatchings could provide more excitement than you planned on. With that said, I hope you have a blast in the Everglades. I've been wanting to take a trip down there myself and try to help stem the spreading of invasive species.

baby gators produce a squeaking call, and every baby gator makes the same identical sound - any mother gator within hearing will come rushing in if they hear it, and their hearing is keen. They will guard hatchlings for up to a year.

Not to mention, even the babies can draw blood and break fingers.

Hatchlings come (usually) around mid summer.
