From the island of Curaco
My boyfriend was doing some work in Curacao and he saw these everywhere. The one pictured directly below was inside the shop that they were working in. This one was about 14 inches.

This one was outside getting some sun.

I've done some research, but so far, I still don't have a clue what they are. Has anyone seen these before?

Ameivas of one species or another if ya ask me. Look almost like giant ameivas (Ameiva ameiva). Is Curaco in or near Central or South America?

Furryscaly, I think you've got it. I looked up Ameiva ameiva and the giant ameiva looks very similar to the lizards that I have pictured. Thanks. Another mystery solved.

I don't know how to open a pdf file, but green ameivas are also available as pets, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the caresheet is on.

Cool, I'll have to download that. I've heard of it, but I don't have it.
