Cope's Gray Treefrog

I unearthed this little guy (literally!) while gardening this afternoon. It was a sleepy little frog! We then put it on a log in the woodpile, then it hopped to a log with bark and wow, can it ever blend in!

Not the 80s here, but in the 60s with a light rain. It was actually a really gorgeous day, by my standards! Glad we're done with snow. C'mon down for a visit, Colleen! I bet the kids would let you sleep in Betsy's princess bed!

Thanks Amy, I'm not sure how that would go over with teen age boys. LOL

Great shots! I've only found one frog this year, a baby bull frog. Was really excited that! I found him/her, and a Brown Skink and Black Racer. It was a good day that day for finding herps!

Colleen, they can sleep in the tent in the backyard, with the treefrogs...

KT, seems like the critters are emerging! I've seen frogs here, but they are much too fast to disappear underwater for me to ID them. No skinks or snakes spotted yet.

I was surprised to see the baby bull (at least I believe it was a bull frog, but I'm no expert). I got a few shots of him before releasing him. I tried to catch the skink to take pics but he disappeared under the leaves and the racer took off like there was no tomorrow! I can't wait until more herps start emerging.
