Florida Herping in my backyard
Hey people. I just joined and thought I'd share some of the things I've found in my backyard in Florida. I have a healthy acre with lots of cover and it ends in a lake so I've come across a wide cariety of species here. Here go a few of them. In the view of my backyard, spot the tortoise in the center.

Correct
It is a legless lizard aka "Glass Snake". It was almost 3 feet of one. Thankfully, he didn't break when I grabbed him. I took a few pics and released him back where I found him. They're one of the neatest herps I've come across. When handled, they lock their entire body up like stiff rod.. and you can wave them around like a wand. Not at all what you'd expect with that snakelike body.
