they call me the "agama whisperer"...haha

Well today I was sitting in my room and out my window I saw this big gravid Tree Agama ( acanthocercus atricollis). As I have shown before, these agama are really aggressive and have quite a bite to them. This female was no different…but then…!

After about 15minutes after taking some photos she just became so tame and actually enjoyed some head scratches and a ride around in my pocket. This is the first time I have ever had this behavior from one. She stayed with me for quite a bit…then I released her to go find a digging spot to lay her eggs(it had rained so ground was soft, that is why I saw her on the ground). So who says you can't make friends with a wild agama Was quite a challenge to actually trust her, was not keen for a nip lol.

Will be interesting to see if she would remember human contact… wish I had some food to give her. I bet she would have taken from my hand.

ok...the angry pics once first caught:

ok...calming down a bit...

getting friendly...

best friends!

You never cease to amaze me, i've befriended a few Gopher snakes but they aren't really known for their terrible disposition anyway.
Great pics as always!

The Agama Whisperer? I thought they called you Captain Pitfall (). Cool pics though! Definitely beats the skinks I see here.
