first time frogging... now i know i am a nerd

Well inspired by the little painted reed frog I found on my car on sunday... i decided to go out and go frogging for the first time (well other than going out looking for baby viper food...lol). I found some really cool stuff.. and one species I have never seen.

I went yesterday evening... found some more painted reed frogs to show you guys how different they can look. Found a greater leaf folding frog, and it is way out of its distribution so I was stoked. I also saw my Fav! Tinker reed frog... what sux is that I only saw it...could'nt catch it to show u guys

but don't worry... the tinker reed frog became my "holy grail". I went earlier this evening and even jumped into the aquatic mess once spotting one sitting on a reed in the middle of the pond! I stink...but was worth it...i caught it!
I will take a photo of the tinker tomorrow as it is dark now and they change colour...not as bright. I also found another colour phase of painted reed frog I have never seen...but will also have to wait till tomorrow...

ok I must admit these photos suck but could not wait for great light to take them, it is raining here so I had a few seconds of dry weather...so they will have to do for now ...well enjoy...

painted reed frog(hyperolius marmoratus)

greater leaf folding frog(afrixalus fornasinii)

and here are two different colour phases of the same species and from the same location...just to show you how different they can look...i will also post the third colour one I found earlier, tomorrow

haha these little guys are making soooo much noise...they are in the room here now...going at it non-stop! Back to the pond they go tomorrow

I am so jealous! You are going to do great things when you get your SLR. I would start off by buying a macro lens right off the bat....(for my sake so I can drool that much more over your amazing pictures!)

I love all of the frogs, they are so cute!

Great pictures, you see pictures of them in books but it is hard for me to realize that they can be found in the wild. Ok, I the one who didn't realize swans could be found in the wild, I had only seen them in zoos etc.
