ID needed...well not really...are you up for it?

This is what our member has to say: I am sooooo bad at snakes lol - is it a pine snake???? (please don't laugh - IDing is not really my thing lol)...

ok....um I found it near my house. (that is quite a big clue cause I live in south africa!) Pine snakes and bull snakes are found in North America.

It is a hot...and it is hinged front fanged(that is basically giving away the phylum(family))

one more give away...lets think..mmmm

I'd say it's a night adder (Causus sp.), but what species? I'd then say it's most likely either Causus defilippii (snouted night adder) or Causus rhombeatus (common night adder), due to the location. Then I'd say, judging by the pinkish brown color, it might be Causus defilippii, although I can't really tell how "snouted" this potential snouted night adder is, so maybe it's the C. rhombeatus after all. Range maps, photos, and good descriptions are hard to come by though, so I could be wrong, but if I am, I think I'm at least close. How'd I do?

P.S. that was pure evil of you to include only one photo shot from above. Evil I say!
