What information are you looking for exactly? E-mail or pm me and I'll be glad to help, I raised angora rabbits for 15 years (not a good choice here though too much hare) lol. Let me say "Rabbits don't all ways breed like rabbits".

I'm assuming that you are thinking of doing it to supply others. If so I would suggest either New Zealands or Californians as they are the most cost effective. There are breeds that get bigger but eat much more. Also these two breeds are more consistant breeders and produce bigger litters. During the hurricanes of 2004 we not only lost our 200 breeders but the barn as well.

Oh, Fran! That's horrible! I can't imagine such a loss...
We bought the mice for feeder breeding, and rats will be the same, but any rabbits I've had have been pets only -- I think I'd be too attached to breed them for snake food. I'm too much of a softie for bunnies, LOL!

Well we started out many years ago breeding pet and show rabbits mainly mini rex and holland lops. Then also started breeding some californians and new zealands seeing as we had acquired some burmese pythons. Things progressed from there until we were supplying most of central Florida herpers, breeders, and dealers with rabbits. It was much easier all around especially seeing as we no longer had to listen to people complain about prices for pedigreed show rabbits. You just have to look at it as part of the circle of life.

Fran I can second the complaining about the price of pedigree show rabbits.

Dee you learn to distance yourself from the rabbits also. If something is going to happen to one it will be your favorite. After I had a $300 show rabbit pulled out through a feeder hole (2" x 4") and just played with. I lost heart.

Wow. My Mini Rex is purebred and pedigreed (full papers, lineage, etc) and I only paid $50 for her... Then again, we're not really in an area that does a lot with show rabbits lol. It's more of a novelty than an investment, or a true show animal.

As for distancing from the rabbits, I'm sure I would if I had to. I hid my face and nearly cried the first time we fed pinkie mice to the geckos, and now I pick them out of a newborn litter, lay them in front of the geckos (on their backs so they move enough to attract them) and watch them chow down. Like you said Fran, it's natural -- if they were in the wild, they'd take them. I think it'll be awhile before we have anything large enough to worry about rabbits for feeders, though!
